Overview This qualification builds on Level 4 and enables learners to specialise and progress in a variety of relevant psychological subject areas, focusing on how understanding of psychology is applied today. Learners develop skills across mental health and psychopathology, cognitive psychology, visual perception, the diversity of addiction, social psychology, individual differences in criminology and intelligence, and contemporary debates in the field.

Progression and Career Outcomes Progression to a Level 6 Diploma in a related field or direct entry to the final year of a UK BSc Psychology degree. Career opportunities include mental health support worker, addictions counsellor, forensic psychology assistant, HR advisor, social worker and youth justice officer.
