About Course
Overview This qualification enables learners to gain understanding and knowledge across a range of engineering practices. Covering engineering principles, design technology including computer-aided design (CAD), electricity and circuit theory, mechanics, statistics and mathematics, it provides the foundational knowledge needed to progress into employment in the engineering sector or continue to Level 4 undergraduate engineering or related study. The qualification is equivalent to GCE A Levels and carries UCAS tariff points.

Assessment All units are internally assessed by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. Assessment is based on the achievement of all specified learning outcomes via written assignments. No exams.

Progression and Career Outcomes Progression to a wide range of OTHM Level 4 Diplomas or direct entry to Year 1 of a UK Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a related subject. This qualification carries UCAS tariff points and is recognised for university entry purposes.
