About Course

Overview This Masters-level qualification develops learners’ understanding of contemporary issues of sustainability and environmental management, with the inclusion of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) in policy, theory and practice. The programme provides knowledge that underpins effective management and consulting in the sector, covering the physical science of sustainability, environmental management in organisations, and the financial and non-financial impact of sustainability on business performance, governance and public policy. Learners become familiar with key international agreements driving the sustainability agenda and explore how leadership and culture impact transformational change. On completion, learners are prepared for roles in business strategy, sustainability consulting, the non-profit sector and government.

  • Hours: Minimum 600 Guided Learning Hours
  • Total Qualification Time: 1200 hours

Assessment All units are internally assessed by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. Assessment is via written assignments only. No exams.

  • Learners must attend all scheduled sessions or engage fully with online learning materials
  • All assignments must be submitted by the deadlines provided
  • Learners must have access to a computer or device with internet connection
  • Academic integrity must be maintained at all times
  • Optional unit selection should be agreed with the delivery centre at the point of enrolment

Progression and Career Outcomes Progression to a Master’s top-up programme (60-credit dissertation) with advanced standing at UK and international universities. Career pathways include sustainability manager, ESG analyst, environmental consultant, net zero strategy lead, climate policy adviser, sustainability reporting officer, green finance specialist and corporate responsibility director.
