About Course

Overview The OTHM Level 4 Award in Principles and Practice of Lip-reading Teaching develops learners’ understanding of the principles and practices of lip-reading so they can apply their knowledge across a variety of educational contexts. The qualification provides learners with the specialist knowledge, understanding and techniques required to become an effective teacher of lip-reading, supporting people with hearing loss to communicate and access learning more effectively. Successful completion enables learners to work in a variety of roles that require specialist lip-reading knowledge and teaching techniques.

  • Flexible delivery (part-time and distance learning available)
  • Total Qualification Time: 100 hours
  • Guided Learning Hours: Minimum 48 hours

Assessment The unit is internally assessed and internally quality assured by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. Assessment is by written assignments. No exams.

  • Academic integrity must be maintained at all times
  • A computer or device with internet access is required for online learners
