About Course

Overview Building on the computer science and networking foundations of the Level 4 Diploma, this Level 5 qualification advances learners’ knowledge into the specialist domains of cyber security practice. Covering security testing, artificial intelligence in security, databases, digital forensics, ethical hacking and malware analysis, the programme develops both the technical expertise and the adversarial mindset required to defend organisations against modern cyber threats. Equivalent to Year 2 of a UK Bachelor’s degree, it prepares learners for specialist security roles and further study.

Assessment All units are internally assessed by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. Assessment is via assignment submission only. No exams.

Requirements/Instructions

  • Learners must attend all scheduled sessions or engage fully with online learning materials
  • All assignments must be submitted by the deadlines provided
  • Learners must have access to a computer capable of running virtual machines and security lab environments
  • Academic integrity must be maintained at all times
  • Practical lab work may require access to virtual environments, Kali Linux or similar security tools

Progression and Career Outcomes Progression to further study at final-year degree level or directly into specialist cyber security roles. Career opportunities include penetration tester, digital forensics analyst, security operations centre (SOC) analyst, malware analyst and cyber security consultant.
